What is a Leccionario?

A Leccionario (Lectionary) is the official liturgical book containing Scripture readings prescribed for Mass throughout the liturgical year. This three-volume set provides the complete cycle of readings for Sundays, weekdays, and feast days according to the Roman Catholic tradition.

Primary Uses in the Liturgy:

• Guides the lector or priest in proclaiming the First Reading, Responsorial Psalm, and Second Reading during Mass
• Ensures consistency with the approved lectionary cycle (typically a three-year rotation for Sundays)
• Provides proper biblical passages aligned with the liturgical calendar and feast days

Why Three Volumes?
